After dropping out of Law School, Carly became an AT&T management trainee and became the first female officer in the Network Systems division. In 1995 she was hired as Hewlett-Packard’s CEO and during his time as Chief Executive Officer from 1995-2005, she was the first women to lead a top 20 company as ranked by Fortune magazine. After some controversial collaboration with Compaq Computers didn’t worked according to plan she was forced to resign as a CEO.

After being split with HP, she served on the boards of several organizations, She was an adviser to Republican senator John McCain’s 2008 Presidential campaign and On May 4, 2015 Carly Fiorina announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination 2016 United States presidential election.
