The 20th annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is big business; and like always, it pays to be pretty.
Despite reports that a handful of top Victoria’s Secret Angels like Karlie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes have bailed out of their contracts with the brand because of increased time commitments offering little pay, many Angel’s still on the runway are clocking in BIG paydays.
The payouts for the world’s highest-paid models of 2015 comes from research generously conducted by Forbes. It is interesting to note that with current Angels still raking in millions, none of this years models come close to the millions made by past supermodels like Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, or Tyra Banks.
Lily Aldridge – $2 million
30-year-old Lily Aldridge was born in Santa Monica, California, and began modeling for Abercrombie and Fitch at the tender age of 16. Her $2 million in earnings comes from being the face of both Michael Kors and Carolina Herrera, launching her own clothing line with Velvet Tees “Lily Aldridge for Velvet”, as well as participating in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for the past six years.
Gigi Hadid – $2.5 million
20-year-old beauty and fashion’s newest “it girl” Gigi Hadid started off her career in modeling through posing for Baby GUESS at the age of two. As the new girl of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Gigi wowed the celebrity filled crowd with her butterfly inspired outfit and feathered shoes. Gigi was the second most tweeted about Angel, with fans clocking in just over 9,000 tweets about her throughout the night. Her $2.5 million in earnings comes from taking on a role as a Maybelline brand ambassador, walking for designers such as Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Max Mara, and Chanel, and starring alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger in fashion designer Tom Ford’s eyewear winter and autumn campaign.
Kendall Jenner – $4 million
At just 19-years-old, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has had an incredibly busy 2015. Fortunately for Kendall being one of the youngest Angel’s to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway, she got to do it alongside her best friend Gigi, and some of the most seasoned supermodels. Her $4 million in earnings puts her in the highest-paid models list thanks to lucrative contracts with Estée Lauder cosmetics and Calvin Klein. As you’ve likely seen from her dazzling Instagram account, Kendall has also modeled for Balmain, Givenchy, and Marc Jacobs all this year. Kendall was the most tweeted about Angel of the night (not a surprise) with just over 10,700 tweets about her from fans and onlookers across the globe.
Candice Swanepoel – $5 million
Born and raised in Mooi River, South Africa, 27-year-old Candice Swanepoel boats an impressive résumé having appeared on the covers of Vogue Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Japan, and Mexico, among many other notable covers. Candice’s career with Victoria’s Secret elite posse began in 2010, and in 2013 she was named the cover model for the Victoria’s Secret Swim Catalogue. In addition to her lucrative Victoria Secret contract, her $5 in earnings are also thanks in part to work with Versace, Juicy Couture, and Max Factor.
Alessandra Ambrosio – $5 million
Born and raised in Erechim, Brazil, 34-year-old Alessandra Ambrosio began taking modeling classes at age 12, and shortly after began modeling for Dilson Stein at age 15. Joan Smalls – $5.5 million
27-year-old Joan Smalls is the second highest earning Victoria’s Secret Angel and only Latina to have rocked the runway. Joan is no first-timer to the VC Fashion Show, having walked for the brand since 2011. Her large spike in earnings from $3 million in 2014 comes from maintaining lucrative deals with H&M and Estée Lauder (where she is the first Latina ambassador), while adding nearly a dozen more deals from top brands like Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs.
Adriana Lima – $9 million
Born and raised in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, 34-year-old Adriana Lima is a veteran Angel who has been posing for Victoria’s Secret since 2000. Her 15-year run is the longest in the brand’s history, awarding her the the biggest payday of them all. Her $9 million in earnings are also thanks in part to recent deals with Maybelline and Vogue eyewear, making her the second highest paid model in the world.
