He won 24 gold medals at the X Games including 14 gold medals, which stood as a record until 2013. Dave was sponsored by Haro bikes for several years, he eventually started his own bike company. He was also the host of MTV’s Real World/Road Rules challenge. Authorities responded to a reported suicide and discovered his body in a truck. Before his death, he posted a heartfelt tribute to his wife sharing a picture of himself and Lauren sharing drink and smiling for the camera and alongside the image he wrote “My rock! Thank god”.
